I was born on January 7, 1952 in Cleveland, Ohio. My parents were Bert J. and Rose H. (Ruminski) Weglicki. I have one brother, David. My father was a police detective on the Cleveland Police Department. I grew up in the Cleveland suburb of Garfield Heights.
I was educated at St. Therese Elementary in Garfield Hts., Ohio, Holy Name High School in Cleveland, Ohio, Borromeo Seminary College in Wickliffe, Ohio, Seminary of St. Pius X in Erlanger, KY., St Charles Seminary in Philadelphia, Pa., and Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, MD.
My priesthood ordination took place on June 2, 1979 at the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption in Covington, Ky. by the Most Rev. William A. Hughes.
My assignments were as follows: Associate Pastor at Christ the King, Lexington (1979-82), St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Lexington (1982-85), Sacred Heart Bellevue (1985-87); Pastor of the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Carlisle (1987-95), St. William, Lancaster and St. Sylvester, Ottenheim (1995-2004), Queen of All Saints, Beattyville and Holy Family, Booneville (2004-2011), Good Shepherd ,Campton (2004-06) and Sacred Heart, Corbin and St. Boniface, Jellico(2011- )
In addition to my parish assignments, I am also the chaplain for the Boy and Girl Scout organizations in the diocese and I am on the Marriage Tribunal staff as a Defender of the Bond. In the past, I have been on the Presbyteral Council and the Diocesan Mission Board.
In Scouting, I am currently on the Blue Grass Council Executive Board of the Boy Scouts, Region5 chaplain and member of the Order of the Arrow. I am also a recipient of the St. George and Silver Beaver medals.
My hobbies are photography, raising houseplants, bicycling, reading, and jigsaw puzzles.
